Dr Ohiwerei has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Member of the Bank Directors Association and Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA). He served as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Keystone Bank Limited from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, he was Co-Founder and Group Deputy Managing Director of First Ally Capital Limited. He worked as a Group Executive Director for Access Bank Plc from 2006 and 2013. He served as the founding CEO and Managing Director of Standard Trust Bank Ghana Limited, now United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited. In addition, he held the positions of General Manager of Standard Trust Bank Nigeria and Executive Director of Continental Trust Bank.

Dr Ohiwerei is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Mathematics and a Master of Business Administration. He holds an Honorary Doctorate degree from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, USA.
